EXPERIENCE
During this course, I initially learnt Python Object Orientated Programming such as classes and inheritance etc. As the course progressed, I became better acquainted with Python as a whole by learning how to make games using PyGame. This taught me valuable concepts such as how a “game loop” works and how to draw sprites and other graphics onto a window.
Learnt about basic web development skills such as HTML, CSS and Javascript. Then, moved on to understanding and utilising an API through Postman. This helped me grasp how a website interacts with other applications to gather and process data. Moreover, I did some of the cyber security challenges from OWASP as part of the work experience to gain an understanding of web security.
During this course, I spent the majority of my time building my own neural networks to identify handwriting and other object detection models. Additionally, I learned how to train, test and export models for use in the real world. Before I started the programming segment, I was taught how a neural network and an AI operates based on a large number of inputs to produce a cohesive and intelligent output.
This comprehensive course taught me various programming languages (C, Python, SQL), data structures, algorithms, and web development with Flask. It provided a strong foundation in computer science principles and culminated in creating Avenue, a website that showcased these skills for my final project
I completed a one-week work experience placement at ServiceNow, where I explored roles in sales, marketing, and engineering through talks from industry professionals. During the week, I worked on two group projects, including designing and pitching a budget-friendly travel app for teens called 'JetGenie'.
